Have you ever watched your tv or computer and seen something that makes you wonder is this stupid or courageous, Well after watching Adam Richman on the program “Man vs Food” I was Hooked!
I was intrigued by the worlds hottest pepper and immediately got online and typed in the keyword worlds hottest pepper and to my surprise it took me to several Utube videos of people eating these peppers whole. I then clicked onto the university of New Mexico’s web site and it contained all the details of this amazing and very hot pepper. I also was impressed by all the challenges they had to go through in order to claim the world record for the worlds hottest pepper.
Thats why I’m hooked, I love hot food! I live in a small town on the outskirts of New Orleans Louisiana. This area is known for our famous Cajun and creole cuisine. The difference between the two, creole food is very rich and Cajun food is very hot! Almost every little town in Louisiana cooks with cayenne pepper when we are boiling crayfish, crabs and shrimp. We even put it on our scrambled eggs at breakfast and everything in between. We love our spicy food.
Now lets look at my hot sauce collection which takes up most of the door in my refrigerator. I love making hot sauce. I make green sauce blends for omelets and tacos, habanero sauce for grilling on the bbq, and now the worlds hottest, (anything you can think of)!
After I discovered all the videos and other infromation on this hot little gem (buht jolokia), I knew I needed to get involved in this exciting new record holder. I started this website, worldshottestpepper.net hoping to create a wave of intrest on this pepper. It deserves it! Its not everyday you can beat the last record holder by being more than twice as hot! So you can understand the difference between Hot! and well, Really Hot! Here is a copy of the Scoville scale.

So, in a nut shell, you can clearly see short of spraying police pepper spray in your mouth, the only way to enjoy the taste and heat of the worlds hottest pepper is to take a bite from a buht jolokia and don’t forget the Milk!

After fourteen day’s it Findley happened! I have a baby bhut plant. I did some reading about growing the worlds hottest pepper and started six seeds in my garage under a florescent light that I put on top of my freezer, with the thought that the heat from the freezer and the high humidity we have here in Louisiana it might be a good place to start a bhut plant, I guess I was right. now the challenge begins, I have to keep the little suckers alive! but one thing I have learned is this is kind of fun, I get up every morning and check my water level, lights, and make sure some little bug has not moved into my homemade greenhouse. So the worlds hottest pepper seeds do grow. here are a couple of pictures of the set up and I will post more as they grow. For all of you who think you cannot grow the bhut jolokia pepper well if I can anybody can, I have a hard time keeping weeds alive. So go for it and good luck growing peppers.

After asking several of my friends to eat one of the Bhut Jolokia peppers I received in the mail, only one person had the balls to Eat the worlds hottest Taco! we placed half of a ghost pepper inside a taco and Paul ate it without a second thought. Please take time to watch and see what happens as Paul surprises us all and goes for it all. Here are the links to the Videos so set back and enjoy!
